Hi friends!

This Friday I wanted to share with you one of my favorite tools that I use in my kit (and on myself!). This fun little egg shaped sponge is an absolute staple for me. The Original Beauty Blender is designed for the user to get a perfectly blended face *every* time. Instead of using an awkward triangular shaped sponge that absorbs all of your makeup, or your fingers that don't keep your application consistent, this sponge evenly distributes your makeup (liquid, cream, or powder) to give you an airbrushed look!

I typically don't buy into the hype when new tools like this come out until I try them myself. I won't lie- I did buy about 3 cheap knock off versions of this sponge before I finally decided to try the real deal for myself.... And the quality and performance contrast was extreme. Unlike most sponges, this sponge is used wet and expands to double it's size once saturated. Using the sponge damp prevents it from absorbing your makeup before it gets to your face, and keeps your makeup soft and blended- no harsh lines.

I use the fat end of this sponge to apply liquid foundation to the majority of my face, and the narrow top end to apply concealer under my eyes, around my nose, and over any blemishes. I then dab my blender straight into a translucent powder that I use to set my makeup.

Not only do it use this sponge for foundations and concealers, but also eye shadow primers, eye treatments, and moisturizers. When I'm done using my sponge, I put a small amount of an all natural shampoo on my sponge, squeeze it under running water a few times and set it out to dry!
